Commercial gutter and roof cleaning

Professional Gutter Cleaning Services

Clearview has provided our clients with complete gutter cleaning services within London and the South East regions for over 27 years.  We specialise in high-access residential and commercial gutter and roof cleaning, including unblocking downpipes and hoppers.

To clear gutters, hoppers and downpipes, we use a gutter-vac system that enables us to access up to 4-5 floors from the safety of the ground by using telescopic carbon fibre poles.  In order to achieve this task effectively, we use a camera mounted on the top of the poles with an integrated monitor system that guides our operatives.  This system enables us to inspect, survey and ensure that the gutters and downpipes are running free and are clear of debris in a safe and controlled manner.

The Gutter vacuuming method of clearing gutters is the most cost-effective and Health and Safety compliant method of access available. All operatives are fully insured and Health and Safety trained.

We own and use the industry-leading Sky Vac and Gutter-Vac systems with our on-site generators.  All our vans are equipped with Reach and Wash Systems to clear any unwanted and leftover mess to the facias and soffits.

However, should the Gutter-vac method not be suitable, we can also access and clear gutters to any building by use of our cherry picker, abseil or harness use methods that is useful for commercial flat roof areas where there are boxed gutters and gulleys.

After completing each task, we provide our clients with a full report with video and imagery of works carried out.

FAQ & further information

Why is regular Gutter cleaning so important?
As a homeowner, property or building manager, you will have a long list of regular tasks to be carried out to ensure your building is maintained and working effectively.  One of these routine tasks that are essential and needed will be to clear the gutters.  This is because over the course of the year, moss from rooftops can accumulate and dry out in the summer to fall into the gutters, rooftop voids and hoppers.  This, along with twigs and sticks brought in by the birds, leaves in the autumn and debris will accumulate and cause your gutters to clog and get blocked up.

Preventing leaves, sticks, moss and debris from blocking your gutters is crucial in protecting the structure of your building to allow rainwater to run off freely.  This prevents future repairs and possible water damage and leaks.  Therefore it is essential to carry out this task.

We have outlined below such key factors to be considered,

Prevent water damage
When gutters, rooftop voids, hopers and downpipes are blocked, the rainwater that hits the roof and flows through the gutter will not drain away and will be left stagnating and standing. This will eventually cause the water to overflow or find an alternative way of draining away, whereby water seeps and finds its way inside a building to cause water damage or leaks.  Also, overflowing water will cause staining on the exterior of buildings and, if left can cause moss and algae build-up

Protect your roof
Clogged gutters and standing water, when left over a period of time, will eventually damage a roof membrane and cause damage.  This will weaken the roof as the membrane will rot away and cause cracks to appear.

Keep Pests and unwanted wildlife away
Gutters that are clogged and full of natural matter, such as moss and leaves, can entice wildlife to come and build nests and enter your home.  Also, when left blocked, seeds can germinate in the matter, and often, grass or weeds will grow in your gutters.

Reduce the risk of foundations
When water overflows and is left standing around your home, it can, when left untreated, cause issues with your damp course and, in extreme cases, your foundations, especially in the winter months when water freezes.

Save you money
Regular gutter and downpipe cleaning can help prevent all of the above and the cost of unexpected repairs further down the road.  Preventive measures can minimise this likelihood and ensure your building is maintained and the drainage is working correctly.  We recommend two gutter clearances per annum.
